Should You Visit a CVS Pharmacy to Get the Flu Vaccine?


If you are considering getting the flu vaccine, you might be wondering if you should visit a CVS pharmacy to get it. Most pharmacies are now required to Priligy blog offer this vaccine. The vaccine will be available at CVS Pharmacy locations in Western New York starting Sunday, February 11, 2019. The first patients will receive the vaccination at participating CVS Pharmacy locations, which are located in Bethpage, Cooperstown, Eastchester, Hudson Falls, Queensbury, Saratoga Springs, and Westchester. Despite the limited supply of the vaccine, CVS pharmacy locations will provide the vaccine. There are 32 pharmacies in New York state. The vaccine will be available at these locations only.

CVS did not provide a clear explanation for the cancellations, but a company spokesman suggested the cancellations had to do with changes in state guidance. The state's Department of Health updated its guidance for vaccine providers, including the requirement that pharmacies only vaccinate people 65 years of age and older. This rule was imposed following an executive order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo. However, a spokesman for the company did not address how many cancellations they expect.

CVS Health will offer the COVID-19 vaccine to children as a two-dose primary series. The vaccine, manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTech, has received approval from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC's authorization for the vaccine was based on guidance from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and Food and Drug Administration. The new vaccine will be available at nearly 1,700 CVS pharmacies across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C.

CVS Health is hiring more than a thousand new employees to help with the influx of people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of these positions are temporary and others may turn permanent. Some pharmacies may be hiring technicians to administer COVID-19 vaccinations under pharmacist supervision. While CVS Health isn't admitting any wrongdoing in the settlement agreement, it is pledging to comply with industry standards and test its website for bugs.
