Ubisoft began experiencing connectivity difficulties around Oct. 4 when the officials first tweeted an alert to users informing them of issues and actual attacks started surfacing around 7:48 am CT on Oct. 5, 2018 and impacted Ubisoft games such as Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor.
"??We're currently experiencing a series of DDoS attacks, which regrettably are a popular occurrence for almost all on the web service providers," Ubisoft posted on an official forum addressing the incident. Later that day Square Enix announced that it was also fighting off an attack aimed towards its preferred MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV despite the fact that it is unclear in the event the attacks are connected or not.
