Be Transformed by Renewing The mind

How do a leading preacher or pastor who thousands follow and millions abroad began to know and love wind up behaving in immoral ways that most everyday church members wouldn't normally? This can be a question I'm sometimes asked. The issue has become occasioned from the recent conduct of some prominent Christian leaders. Among those who raise such question have been in effect questioning whether or not such spiritual leaders have a genuine relationship with all the Lord. I believe that these occurrences highlight the significance of the need to renew our mind.

The Bible informs us to, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of one's mind" (Romans 12:2). Paul the apostle was required to write these words for the church at Rome. Quite simply, these words weren't directed at the world but on the believers in Christ.

Why a significant point? Because though the persons whom Paul was chatting with were already Christians, he tells them they have to become transformed by renewing their mind. This aspect lays the inspiration for I wish to address in this article.

The primary point is although we are born again and changed into a fresh creation as soon as we accept Christ as our Savior, the renewing in our mind is not instantaneous. And merely because we've got become born again does not always mean we don't have screwed up believing that needs to be addressed.

God will not want us to consentrate as the world does. He wants us to get a God-focused view about life. For example, I sense that lots of Christians are troubled from the events currently happening within our world: The economy is detrimental, rental destruction are abounding plus more destructive, crimes have grown to be more unthinkable, our government is actually dysfunctional, etc.

But as God's people, our faith must be in Him instead of inside the systems on this world. His power to offer His people is not susceptible to the condition of the economy or something different. He's provided us with the term of God to rework our way of thinking to ensure we would have these kinds of faith-filled perspective.

What exactly happens as we choose to not make renewing of our own mind a top priority? I undergo you that a real decision could have negative affect our fellowship with God. Think it over. Before we found Christ, we had arrived living off of the processed foods of this world: music with objectionable lyrics, pornography, dysfunctional family settings, promiscuity, physical or emotional abuse, etc. If we want to be attuned to God and be able to sense the leadership of His Spirit in life, we've got to get this junk from our mind and renew our thinking being one with Him. Again, our main tool for this process change of mind is the phrase of God.

This call to be transformed by the renewing of our own brain is no option however a commandment: "Let this mind have you, which has been and in Christ Jesus" (Philippians. 2:5). Essentially, this verse is a commandment to permit the mind of Christ to govern our everyday life. If our getting the mind of Christ was incidental to accepting Christ, the commandment for all of us to "let this mind be in you" has to be vain point, however, this isn't case. If we want to have the mindset of Christ, we must make personal investment in to the process.
